Jakarta, 19/8 (Antara) - Korean Taekwondoin, Minsung Kang, won the first gold medal in the 2018 Asian Games taekwondo from individual men's Poomsae numbers.
In the match held at JCC Senayan, Jakarta on Sunday, Kang defeated Iranian athlete Koorosh Bakhtiyar with a number of 8,810-8,730.
Before going to the finals, Kang defeated Pongporn Suvittayarak from Thailand.
While Koorosh who won the silver medal advanced to the final after winning over Ching Chen from Chinese Taipei.
The Pongporn and Ching Chen won bronze medals themselves.
In the men's team number, the Korean team successfully won the gold medal after the final beat China.
Korea is ahead of China with numbers 8,480-8020.
